Diane was born on July 6, 1963 in
Flushing

. She moved to
Florida
to attend
Stetson
University
, in DeLand. Diane graduated from
Stetson
University
with a B.B.A. degree in Finance in 1985. She later moved to
Tallahassee
to attend
Florida
State University
College
of
Law
.
At
Florida
State
, Diane worked at various law firms to help pay for the schooling. While at FSU, she met her husband Rodney Flynn. They both graduated in the spring of 1988.
After graduation, both she and Rod moved to the
Ft.
Myers
area and worked at various jobs while studying for the bar exam. Upon being admitted to the Bar, Diane worked at various law firms until she landed a job at the Public Defenders office. Diane worked for almost three years at the PD's office and during that time, she and Rod got married and decided that they both wanted to have their own law practice together. In 1992, both she and Rodney began their general legal practice together in Cape Coral.
Diane finally had her own
law practice. During this time, she became a Board Certified in Criminal Trial Attorney and a Family and County Court Mediator. Diane also obtained her license as a Mortgage Broker to diversify her business. It was after Diane became a mediator that she realized the real value of mediation. Mediation allows parties to stay out of overloaded court system, saving expensive court time and reducing the cost for our citizens.
Long time residents of Cape Coral, Diane and Rod have now been married for 16 years this past May and have three children. David is attending

, Christy and Samantha are going to
Cape
Elementary
. She is very involved with the children and tries to volunteer and go on class trips when her trial practice allows it. Her son, David, is very involved in basketball and plays all year round with the YMCA,

and Recreation Leagues and High Hoops. Her eldest daughter, Christy, is a competitive swimmer with Swim Florida -

, while her youngest daughter, Samantha, or Sammi as her friends call her, dances on the competitive dance team at

. Even though Diane has a very demanding law practice, she always makes time to go to her children's activities and games.
Diane is also active with her church, St. Hilary's Episcopal, where she helps with Sunday school and is active with the Mom's group that meets every month. She also recently sponsored "Denim Day" for Breast Cancer Awareness, raising funds for the cancer society.
